I offer counselling for young people to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, at your own pace.
Young people come to counselling for many different reasons. You don’t need to be in crisis to ask for support. Some of the things we might work with include:
🌸Anxiety, worry or panic
🌸Low mood or depression
🌸Stress around school, college or exams
🌸Friendship or relationship difficulties
🌸Family changes, conflict or separation
🌸Low self-esteem or confidence
🌸Feeling overwhelmed, angry or emotionally stuck
🌸Difficult experiences or life events
🌸Exploring identity, emotions or who you are
If something is affecting your day-to-day life, it’s enough of a reason to seek support.
Counselling gives you space to:
🌸Talk things through without being judged or told what to do
🌸Better understand your thoughts, feelings and reactions
🌸Learn healthier ways of coping with difficult emotions
🌸Feel more confident expressing yourself
🌸Build resilience and self-awareness
🌸Feel less alone with what you’re going through
We’ll work together in a way that feels right for you, focusing on what matters most in your life.
My approach
I work in a calm, supportive and collaborative way. I won’t pressure you to talk about anything before you’re ready. Sessions are led by you, and we’ll go at your pace.
I use an integrative approach, which means I draw on different counselling theories and techniques depending on your needs. This might include talking, creative methods, or practical strategies to help manage difficult feelings.
Confidentiality and safety
Counselling is confidential, which means what you share stays private. There are a few important exceptions around safety, which I will always explain clearly at the start so you know exactly where you stand.
For younger clients, I aim to balance confidentiality with appropriate involvement of parents or carers, always keeping the young person’s wellbeing at the centre of the work.
Age range and sessions
I offer counselling for young people from age 11. Sessions are 50 minutesand can take place in person or online.
Taking the first step
Starting counselling can feel daunting, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. That’s completely normal. Whether you’re a young person considering counselling, or a parent/carer looking for support for your child, you’re welcome to get in touch to ask questions or arrange an initial appointment.
I know it can be hard to talk to a stranger about difficult things so with young people we work at their pace and what they are comfortable with. You can ask me any questions (it’s only fair!) so you get to know me.
I sometimes also bring in activities like colouring while we talk as that can help relax us and take the pressure off making it more comfortable to open up. Some people don’t like eye contact and that’s okay! We could also do activities like the emotion wheel to help us recognise and understand our emotions

My training
I am completing further training in a NCPS accredited Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People and have completed a Transactional Analysis 101 course specialising in adapting techniques for use with children
